The enemy is fear, we think it is hate, but it is fear.

  Gandhi

When you read that our true enemy is fear, although most of us think it is hate, what are your thoughts and feelings, and where and how does fear show up in your life?

Where is fear controlling you, limiting you, causing you to say yes when you mean no or no when you mean yes, or holding you back from answering the call of change that’s beckoning you to shine a light in those dark and hidden places where truth resides?

You see, not only is fear a liar, fear is a thief. Fear will convince you of just about anything that will keep you stuck, waiting, sad, disappointed, confused, or even convinced that things are ok or that you can do it all on your own, all while repeating the same things over and over again, hoping for and expecting different results.  Fear is such a TRICKSTER!!!

Do you know what the antidote to fear is?  It is Love!

Love is where you return to the ultimate power that your soul contains.  A love that begins by turning inward and, in turn, growing your capacity to extend love outward. You see, the depth of the love that you give yourself is equal to the love you can extend to others.

Let me ask you, how are you loving yourself? What is the depth and the width of your love for, with, and toward yourself?

Whether you believe it or not, your most important work is to become adept at recognizing when fear has you trapped, and then you must pour heaps of forgiveness and compassion onto that fearful part of yourself and for what it takes to be fully human as you return home once again to love.

Love is the antidote to fear.

Love is the medicine of the heart, the healing balm of the soul, and the one true path to freedom. There is no greater contribution than letting love reach where it hasn’t been before.

This is how we move from the voice of fear within us and the control it has over us. This is how we move from being alone in the world to being connected to everyone and everything.

We listen inward.

Pause for a moment and listen inward, ask yourself, where has my love not yet reached?

“Listen with curiosity, because curiosity is a form of compassion.

Try to let your soul show you where you need love to reach within you.

Know that this is the bravest most important thing that you could ever do.

Find the places within you where love is the only thing needed, where love is the only possible saving grace.

Do this again and again, to bring love where you are most broken, to bring love to the places that need saving within you.

You get to be the one to arrive in the darkest places of you with the love that only you can give to yourself.

Save yourself with this love because this act of love is so much more than you. This same love that frees you from your fear is the same love that frees me from mine.”
Meggan Watterson

Save yourself again and again, and know there is no greater contribution than letting love reach where it hasn’t been before,  letting love lead the way.  Letting love be the antidote to fear.

About Mikki Proffitt
My mission in life is to create a space where women like you can share your stories from a place of truth, vulnerability, and safety. Where you can be raw and real, without masks or pretense. You can come as you are, feel seen, heard, held, and witnessed without judgment, and be surrounded by love. As a woman whose own healing journey through childhood trauma, abuse, and addiction I have spent over three decades in a career of service to others as an addictions counselor, trauma-informed breathwork, grief movement, and EFT Practioner. My deepest desire is that my work helps women end their suffering as they remember who they are, reclaim their power, and reignite their purpose.
