I call my power back because I can.

Codependency says that I have agreed to work harder on your problems, your addiction, your well-being, and your life than you.

The requirement to be in a codependent relationship of any kind is that I separate from myself, my heart, and my soul.

That I relinquish my power, I ignore my dreams, I play small, and I set my life aside so I can tend to yours.

I convince myself that this is love, and I misconstrue and confuse fear, enabling, and enmeshment for help and kindness.

The cost to me is everything, my personal sovereignty, my agency, my autonomy, my power, and even my life itself.

I lose myself, over and over again, until I can no longer see even the smallest reflection of who I am or who I am meant to be, that is until I pause and return to that still small voice of love inside of me.

Take a moment and listen inside.
Ask yourself what or who in my life is no longer serving me.
What do I need to release, whether I’m ready to or not?

Preparing for the Journey is a place where you join other women in a safe and supportive community as you begin to learn and to listen inside.

Today, I listen inside, and here is what I know and can share with you.

I am devoted to shedding light into the dark places that keep women bound in the silent suffering of codependency.

I am devoted to providing a brave and safe space for women to come, gather and learn once again that her power has never been lost, only misplaced, and that today she gets to begin her own personal journey of reclamation!

I am devoted to walking alongside the woman who is determined to create a new and powerful life for herself, one that allows her to listen inside and learn how to love herself first, then extend that love to others from a place of a deep and expansive place of unlimited and unbridled freedom.

I am devoted to all that I am meant to be in service to others.

An Invocation and Reclamation of Power

Meggan Watterson

I call my power back from all times and all places
I call my power back from all times and all places
I call my power back from all times and all places
Because I can!
Because I know who I am
Because I am my own.
In any and all circumstances, I can return to this still, calm voice of love inside me.
I can reclaim my power because I know where true power rests, within.

With Big Love and Open Arms,

Mikki

About Mikki Proffitt
My mission in life is to create a space where women like you can share your stories from a place of truth, vulnerability, and safety. Where you can be raw and real, without masks or pretense. You can come as you are, feel seen, heard, held, and witnessed without judgment, and be surrounded by love. As a woman whose own healing journey through childhood trauma, abuse, and addiction I have spent over three decades in a career of service to others as an addictions counselor, trauma-informed breathwork, grief movement, and EFT Practioner. My deepest desire is that my work helps women end their suffering as they remember who they are, reclaim their power, and reignite their purpose.

This is so powerful, Mikki! “That I relinquish my power, I ignore my dreams, I play small, and I set my life aside so I can tend to yours…” It’s so subtle and so many in my life HAVE called it help and kindness. All the while I was slowly suffocating….the frog in the boiling water. I’m grateful for your guidance and for how deeply you have walked with me on my journey of recovery from codependency! So much gratitude!
