I recently had a run-in with fear, who came knocking disguised as a wolf in sheep’s clothing, so convincing, so alluring, so believable, until she wasn’t!

Do you know that the only way fear can survive is by being fed with lies? At that moment, I was lying to myself to justify something I wanted to do, so I overload my internal truth and went with my fear. The next morning I had a bit of an AH-HA!!!

For the first time ever, I saw just how deceptive, desperate, and seductive fear is, but the thing about fear, she’ll always give herself away if you’re paying attention.

You see, “truth” does not mind being questioned but a “lie” does not like being challenged. It will kick into high gear to convince you to continue doing what you’ve always done while you sit on the sidelines of your life, waiting for change to occur and wondering why things remain the same.

Fear says:
wait, do nothing, try harder, take no risks, play it safe, you’re not ready, tell no one, it’s our little secret, you can do it on your own, no one will know, who do you think you are…`

Truth says:
rise up my beloved, be brave, listen to your heart, don’t settle, you’re safe, there’s a plan, ask for help, you can do this, you’re not alone, you can do be-do-have anything you want if you show up for you!

Are you listening to the voice of fear or truth, and how do you know?

Fear cultivates
resistance, confusion, scarcity, chaos, self-doubt, excuses, guilt, shame, regret, secrets, separation, feeling powerless, helpless, and as a victim.
The result: Perceived Control and an illusion of safety.

Truth cultivates connection, bravery, possibility, self-worth, self-acceptance, self-love, reclamation of personal power, radical responsibility for your own life, and liberating others to
live their life.
The result: Freedom and Being your most authentic liberated, empowered self.

Honest Reflection
How do you feel and react when you are faced with a difficult situation or decision?
Are you in alignment with your core values and internal and external boundaries?
Where are you, or have you been giving your power away?
Are you living in a place of fear or truth?
What do you really want and need?

If you want to take your healing and transformation to a deeper level, know that healing is not about perfection but about no longer living unconsciously.

Change begins by getting radically honest with yourself and breaking old patterns as you intentionally move in a new direction Foundations of Change is your roadmap in that new direction, one that refuses to return to the old patterns, beliefs, and ways of the past.

About Mikki Proffitt
My mission in life is to create a space where women like you can share your stories from a place of truth, vulnerability, and safety. Where you can be raw and real, without masks or pretense. You can come as you are, feel seen, heard, held, and witnessed without judgment, and be surrounded by love. As a woman whose own healing journey through childhood trauma, abuse, and addiction I have spent over three decades in a career of service to others as an addictions counselor, trauma-informed breathwork, grief movement, and EFT Practioner. My deepest desire is that my work helps women end their suffering as they remember who they are, reclaim their power, and reignite their purpose.
